That thing you’re ashamed to talk about? Bring it onstage.

“We love seeing raw truth and openness in other people,” writes Brené Brown in her book Daring Greatly, “but we’re afraid to let them see it in us.”

One caveat: It’s best to show vulnerability within a relationship that has some history, so get them on your side first by showing you’re a competent, confident comic. Then get into the real shit.

A great example of this is Ali Wong’s first Netflix special which is hilarious and edgy and then slowly gets more and more vulnerable as it goes along.
