Gaffigan: Word economy and efficiency. Watching Dave Attell, I think it's a New York standup thing is get to the point.
Stern: Get the joke out. You see a lot of guys die onstage because the setup is just so long.
Gaffigan: And also, do it without emotion. Let the material be the hero.
